Jesus is the climax...

Believing that someone can read the Bible without a systematic approach is as true as believing water isn't wet. Ever since the works of the Bible have been presented to man, there has existed a systematic approach of interpreting them. Not all of the systematic approaches throughout history have been recorded but it is safe to say that that is the case seeing that it is impossible to interpret the 66 books without it. There have been efforts to try to systematize the Bible into its major and minor parts but none of them ever turn out to be a perfect fit. Some are better than others but in the end none of them can be considered perfect, nor should they ever be seeing that they are not inspired by God like the original authors of the Bible. A lot can be said about systematic approaches to the Bible but I want to focus on one particular approach that I believe to be the most exhilarating one for myself. There is the approach of interpreting a passage in its historical setting. The historical interpretation reveals the meaning the readers of its day would have understood it to mean. It is necessary and it does interest me to learn the historical meaning but it is the ultimate climax of its meaning that is exhilarating. Especially, when the climax can be found in Jesus Christ! Seriously, what else can compare to learning how Jesus Christ is exalted on nearly every page of scripture? And you might agree that the word "climax" is a very fitting word for the Anointed Lord of Salvation, Jesus Christ!
